Webgallerian, an online marketplace from Sweden it has been relaunched this year. Its goal is the same as before which is to bring many different online stores under the same roof and become the largest online marketplace in the Nordic.
El online market started in Sweden, but it has hopes of expanding geographically very quickly. “Our platform is easy to use and scalable for new markets. We want to be the Amazon or the Alibaba in the Nordic and our concept - to focus on small and medium online stores - is something unique, ”said Ingemar Gleissman, founder and CEO of Webgallerian.
Using the platform, customers can find their own online stores, benefit programs, and use a single point of payment for transactions. Also, when something happens in one of the stores selected by the customer, webgallerian will send a notification directly to the client about this. Customers can easily share what they have bought, create their own lists of favorite products, create their own commercial inside, and read reviews of products they are interested in.
While many other online commerce sites want to reach out to big companies, webgallerian focuses on small companies. "The stores in Webgallerian receive attractive marketing and a sales channel, they are also provided with payment and logistics assistance" Gleissman added. Currently, there are more than 140 online stores in Sweden that have signed with Webgallerian. Together they offer more than 425,000 products.
Along with the relaunch, the company led a rights issue for more than 10 million Swedish kronor (around 1 million euros) aimed at local investors. "Online marketplaces like Amazon, Alibaba, JD.com have become very successful globally, and highly sought after by investors, Gleissman said. “In the Nordic, there are still a very limited number of online markets, and we hope that we can grow rapidly to gain a high position in the region with our platform.
